May 31, 2004Better late...Okay, another weekend cap- Friday, went to a club called Speed with Bam and met 2 of her friends there, Nui and Vicky. First time since I've been here that we went to a hip hop club instead of techno. It was soooo much better. The 4 of us hung out and danced there til 2 and that was about it, but finally going somewhere that played hip hop made the night. Nui and Vicky are cool. Nui is a flight attendant and goes to Japan and Hawaii a lot, poor baby. Vicky is a teacher that doesn't hook up with her students. Saturday I met up with Vicky and Nui at the Weekend Market, very cool flea market. We walked around a bit, the Nui took me to this place called Buddhist Park, I think it was called Puta Mone Tone. Which reminds me, Thai people don't call Bangkok, Bangkok. Their name for it is Krung Thep, which is actually short for Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit, I think it's an interesting side note. The park was awesome, I was short on time that day so I didn't get too many pics, but I will go back and get more. It was an awesome place, but it's like an hour and a half away, which is a shame cause I'd go probably everyday if it was closer. Later that night Eastwood and Kirsten came to my place and we went out and hung out at Soi 4, which is a strip of bars. Cars aren't allowed in so everyone hangs out on porches of the bars, very cool. On the way back to meet Eastwood, I passed what I hope to be a publicity stunt for the soccer games goin on (the pics with the BMW). If not, that's a bad day for somebody. Then on Sunday, Eastwood and I bowled for like 4 hours whilst we ate a ton of food. We had fries, cashews, chicken nuckles, beef, california rolls, fish patties, shrimp wrapped in bacon, chips, 4 pitchers of beer (him), and I could be forgetting some other stuff. Oh yeah, a plate of deep fried chicken skin, yes, that is an item on the menu, and yes, I ordered it, and yes, I did my best to finish it, Andrew said something about disgusting, but I think my ears were clogged with cholesterol- "Now, if you'll excuse me I'll be getting back to my bucket... now, I'm only eating the skin, so the chicken is up for grabs..."- Joey- Anyways, he whooped on me for the first 2 or 3 games, then I whooped on him for a couple. They were slow bringing the beer, and the longer he was without it, the worse his game got. The beer came, he took a swig, strike. simply stunning. A weird coincidence: The girl Nui that I met knows my cousin Fai, Pai, Doug, and me. The weird part is that she's knows us all independently of each other. I find that very odd. Actually, she met Doug through Pai, but still to know almost everyone in my age range in my family independently of each other I find very odd, cool too, but odd nonetheless. Other pics inside: Oh, I still haven't been able to find an easy way to do thumbnails, since I do batch uploads of pics now. There are a lot of pics, so it might take some time to load if you're not on a fast connection, sorry:) I've changed it inside so that there are text links to the pics instead of all of the pics loading. It's faster for anyone on a slow connection. It's a little bit more of a pain to post this way, but if it helps anyone let me know so I'll keep doing it like this. friends 1 nicest hospital friends Comments
Whether you noticed it or not Mark, you got Enrique in there with the ad pics. Enrique as... a Roman god or something... That disturbs me... I looked around for any place it could've fallen from, didn't see anything. I figured it was, cause it was next to a huge billboard ad for it. But still interesting to see. Wonder what they did with the car, I could use a car, BMW's are nice... Posted by: Mark at June 1, 2004 11:47 PMYeah, the Enrique pic is from the Pepsi Superbowl commercial, he played the Emperor.
