"Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that..."- George Carlin

For the third night in a row, I've had a dream about spiders. Whenever I have reccuring dreams I get very curious about their meanings. Actually, I guess this doesn't qualify as a reccuring dream since it's not the same dream, but just about spiders; it's more just a reccuring theme I guess. The last time I had this, the theme was driving, but either the windshield was covered in mud, or I was unhappy with where I was driving to or the road I was on. This made sense to me at the time because I felt very lost and unhappy in life, so it was easy to see where the dreams were comin from. But spiders? I have no idea why I keep dreaming about spiders. Any dream/psychology experts in the house?

I looked up a few internet sites, and after wading through all the "bad luck", "good luck", and my "greatest desires will be granted" crappy crap. I found some interesting interpretations:

To see a spider in your dream, indicates that you are feeling like an outsider in some situation. Or that you may want to keep your distance and stay away from an alluring and tempting situation.

That's pretty much Thailand.

The spider is also symbolic of feminine power. Alternatively, a spider may refer to a powerful force protecting you against your self-destructive behavior. If you kill a spider, it symbolizes misfortune and general bad luck.

I never knew spiders were symbolic of feminine power, interesting enough. I wouldn't say I have self-destructive behavior, but maybe that's because of the powerful force protectin (when you leave the "g" off of "proctecting", the word looks like some type of chemical or vitamin) me against it. I don't think dreams can predict the future, so I won't pay attention to the misfortunes or bad luck (I don't believe in luck either, in the traditional sense anyways).

To see a spider spinning a web in your dream, signifies that you will be rewarded for your hard work. You will soon find yourself promoted in your job or recognized for your achievement in a difficult task.

Don't buy it.

Spiders are a symbol of creativity due to the intricate webs they spin.

I can see this.

On a negative note, spiders may indicate a feeling of being entangled or trapped in a sticky or clingy relationship. It represents some ensnaring and controlling force. You may feel that someone or some situation is sucking the life right out of you.

This is semi-applicable, but makes much more sense in regards to a few weeks ago than it does now.

To see a spider climbing up a wall in your dream, denotes that your desires will be soon be realized.

CRAPPY CRAP

To dream that you are bitten by a spider, represents a conflict with your mother. The dream may be a metaphor for a devouring mother to possess and entrap.

What's up, mom? Why all the angst and conflict? I thought we were cool?

After consulting with Liz, who is my official dream interpretor, and watching her look up spiders in all her dream interpreting books, I came to the conclusion that this reoccuring dream means... you should get naked... okay maybe not... never mind.

Your comment from three days ago...

Oh, by the way, when you click on the links, they may lead to a different order of results because of re-spidering, my site is probably on that results page, or the one before or after it.

...perhaps the re-spidering that was your focus three days ago was what prompted (in a more literal fashion) your dreaming of spiders. Though, I think we need a bit more details as to what the spiders were doing in your dreams, etc.
